Foreign companies to invest over 50 million euros in Utrecht Region

Foreign companies are expected to generate over 50 million euros in investments for Utrecht Region, according to results published by Utrecht Region’s Team Trade and Invest. Firms from other countries already located in the region along with the 19 newcomers that set up here last year will contribute to this figure. Their presence is expected to create more than 650 jobs.

Team Trade and Invest also helped about 100 domestic companies expand their operations abroad. Activities included participating in trade missions to Germany, China and Taiwan. These efforts also help create jobs in Utrecht Region.

Foreign companies are of great importance …

The figures show that foreign companies are of vital significance to the region. These firms boost the local economy and provide links to important international networks. Investments from abroad also increasingly contribute to future-proof, sustainable employment opportunities, both in the region and beyond.

Utrecht Region aims to climb even higher in the rankings by continuing to identify, approach and attract international companies, actively nurture young talent, promote trade and invest in trade missions in the coming years.

In 2020, Team Trade and Invest will continue to work on attracting international companies and investments to Utrecht Region, not least those related to healthy urban living. The focus will be on key sectors: life sciences and health, IT and gaming and sustainability and innovation.
