The region’s workforce is well trained and multilingual and its inhabitants are known for their efficiency and pragmatism. It is not surprising that Utrecht Region became the most innovative region in the country (European Commission's 2019 Regional Innovation Scoreboard) with this amazing pool of highly skilled professionals.

The Dutch are among the most multilingual people in the world. Some 90% of the population are proficient in English and many speak German and French as well. With more than 170 nationalities, Utrecht Region also has a large pool of native speakers of a wide variety of languages.
The region’s prime location and first-rate connections guarantee access to a virtually inexhaustible pool of talented young professionals. The high quality of life on offer makes it easy to both attract and retain qualified workers. The country’s progressive immigration laws simplify the recruitment of global talent. To provide further assistance, Utrecht Region has set up a portal to accommodate and support international workers and students wishing to relocate to the region.

“I am very happy that Fujitsu is located in Utrecht Region. We need highly educated, skilled employees. Our office is so easy to reach by car and public transport that our people can live wherever they like. One of our customers once said that Fujitsu is a global company with a local touch, small enough to care and big enough to deliver. Being in Utrecht makes that possible.”
